Chrome 1.1

Description

Chrome with Austin color scheme Chrome is a Color Scheme Editor for the Palm IIIc and other handhelds. Chrome works in conjunction with the PalmOS color system to customize the color of all user interface elements in all applications. Personalize your handheld with color menus, buttons, text, even dialogs and alerts. Everything is easy to personalize, and your changes work for all applications.

Chrome on a monochrome handheld Chrome also works great with your Palm III, IIIx, V, Vx, IIIxe, or Workpad, Chrome let's you customize your handheld in 2, 4, or 16 shades of gray.

Features
  • Built in color schemes
Built in color schemes To get you customizing quickly, Chrome comes with a handful of ready to use color schemes created by our team of graphic artists. Select groovy Austin, robust Black & Blue, or tasty Cotton Candy, then tap Apply and you're handheld's personality has changed for the better.
  • Screen color editor
The Screen Settings panel allows you to pick the number of colors your handheld is using. Color name tips If you have a 16 bit color device, you can switch between 65536 color mode, 256 color mode, 2, 4 or 16 shades of gray mode. If you have a handheld without color, you can switch up to 16 shades of gray and and a stylish look to all your applications.
  • Color scheme editor
When you are ready to create your own masterpiece, simply tap on the UI elements you want to customize the color for, and pick from the rainbow of colors available for your handheld. When you're happy with your scheme you can Apply it to all applications or just Save it for later.
  • Color name tips
Color name tips There's a lot of stuff there, so to help you find all the colors you can change, just hold the pen down in the scheme editor (wait) and the name of the color element will be displayed at the top of the screen. There's even audible feedback as you slide the pen around over the different color elements (our engineers wanted us to point that out, because they spent a lot of time making that work really well, we have to throw them a bone every now and then).
  • Beaming
Beaming This is all about big fun, and what could be more fun than beaming your new color scheme masterpiece to a friend. Simply select the scheme and beam away.
  • Downloadable color schemes
It's a connected organizer right? So connect your handheld up, and download free add on color scheme packs from the twinkletwinkle.com web site. (ps: got a great color scheme? Send it on over and we'll make you famous).
  • PalmOS command bar
Chrome command bar We like the new command bar feature of PalmOS 3.5 so much, we had to have one. A quick dot slash in Graffiti, and you'll have quick access to Save, Delete, even Beaming - and cute little icons as well!
  • Help
Just to make sure you find all the great features in Chrome, we've added a Help button right there on the main screen.
  • Interactive Menus
We don't think this is a big deal, but every DVD we've seen has Interactive Menus listed as a special feature, so we thought we could at least list them as a regular kind of feature.

Requirements

  • PalmOS 3.5 or better
Chrome integrates with the PalmOS 3.5 color system. These features are not available on earlier versions of PalmOS. Of course, Chrome works great with PalmOS 4.0.
  • PalmOS 3.5 compatible handheld
To be able to customize in color, you need a color device like a Palm IIIc (sorry Chrome can't make color out of monochrome pixels). If you have a Palm IIIx, V, Vx, IIIxe, Workpad or Workpad c3 (860230X or 860240U) with PalmOS 3.5, you will be able to customize in 16 shades of gray. If you have a Palm III or Workpad (860220X) with PalmOS 3.5, you will be able to customize in 4 shades of gray.
  • 22k free RAM
Chrome uses about 20k for the application itself. An extra 2k should leave plenty of room for you to indulge your color scheme creativity.
  • Creative spirit version 1.1 or later
Because big fun is what Chrome is all about.
